OUR CUSTOM DESIGN PROCESS

Participating in the design of your dancewear is a means to fully personalize your competitive image. You might collect ideas you like as you watch other dancers, or browse fashion periodicals for inspiration. Spend time thinking about your strengths as a dancer, and your body. Do you want your look to be elegant, feminine, sexy, or more playful? A cloud of silk chiffon, or is your style black velvet? When you have some ideas about how you want to present yourself, we will meet to begin the design process. We sketch out a plan, choose fabrics and rhinestones, and estimate the cost of your project. See the "Pricing" tab to get an idea what to expect.

When you are comfortable with the design, we collect 1/3rd of the anticipated cost of the gown as a down payment, and order your fabric. We make a pattern for your project, cut and baste your costume together and then have a first fitting. This is an opportunity to see how the design will look on your body, get a good fit and make any changes necessary.

At each fitting, you will be shown a budget report, which lists expenses and labor to date and costs anticipated to complete your project. If we decide to make changes to our original plan, the cost of those changes will be estimated for you. A second (and occasionally a third or fourth) fitting provides a chance to fine tune the fit and make decisions about details and rhinestone patterns. A second 1/3rd payment is collected at your second fitting and the final amount due is paid on delivery of your project.

Your costume will be completed in time for you to have a dress rehearsal before your competition. We strongly recommend you give your look a test run to confirm that it functions as intended.
